Residential Mental Health & Addiction Treatment

The core bed-based program, built on an explicitly non-12-step, meaning-centred psychological model rooted in Viktor Frankl's work and Dr. Paul T. P. Wong's Meaning-Centered Therapy: rather than managing symptoms alone, clinicians work on the underlying issues driving addictive behaviour and help clients build personally meaningful lives. Daily group therapy is paired with at least one individual counselling session per week, drawing on Meaning-Centered Therapy, CBT, DBT, narrative therapy, and EMDR, alongside psychiatric care, medication management, fitness and nutrition consultations, and weekly massage therapy. Care spans four dimensions — physical, psychological, social, and spiritual (the spiritual strand voluntary, never enforced) — and the same programs take on process addictions such as gambling, sports betting, and shopping together with concurrent mental-health and trauma issues. Indigenous clients have access to smudging, spiritual water bathing, a dedicated Indigenous support person, and guidance from Tla'amin Nation elders.

Private-pay; no rates published — the official Fees & Financing page directs callers to admissions, notes that many clients access extended health benefits, that medical financing and payment splitting are available, and that payers may be eligible to deduct up to $10,000 as a medical expense on a Canadian tax return.

Medical Withdrawal Management

Men beginning residential treatment, plus a stand-alone stream for men heading to outpatient care in their home community · Typically 1–5 days before transitioning to programming; stand-alone 7-day medical program available · 8-bed medical unit (2 private medical withdrawal suites, nursing station, medication dispensary) · Powell River, BC (on-site medical unit)

An on-site 8-bed medical unit where nursing staff monitor vital signs around the clock and every client sees a physician within 24 hours of arrival. Withdrawal protocols are matched to the substances used, with particular caution around heavy alcohol use, and opioid agonist treatment (Suboxone) can be started or continued — most clients remain on it throughout their stay, with a community prescriber arranged at discharge. Clients typically stabilize over one to five days before moving into group and individual therapy; a separate 7-day medical program serves those planning outpatient treatment back home.

Occupational Trauma & PTSD Program

First responders, military personnel, and veterans · Powell River, BC

A stream for men whose trauma is occupational — firefighters, paramedics, police, and military — that treats addiction and PTSD concurrently rather than sequentially, which the centre notes most treatment programs do not do. Dedicated trauma and PTSD group sessions run alongside psychiatric evaluation and medication management, individual counselling, EMDR, DBT, and repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation (rTMS). Consistent with the centre's meaning-centred philosophy, trauma work combines symptom reduction with helping clients pursue personally meaningful lives rather than chasing symptom relief alone.

Executive & Professional Treatment

Corporate executives, business owners, entrepreneurs, skilled tradespeople, and other professionals · Powell River, BC

A variant of the residential program shaped for working men who cannot fully step away: a business centre is available on campus and personal devices are permitted in private bedrooms, so limited professional obligations can continue during treatment. Clinical and medical teams coordinate an integrated plan that targets the self-regulation skills needed for the stress, anxiety, anger, depression, detachment, and exhaustion of high-performance careers alongside problematic substance or alcohol use.

Virtual Family Services

Family members and close friends of clients and alumni (maximum two per client) · Weekly virtual sessions; ongoing with no expiry · Online (virtual sessions; booking via Calendly)

Free weekly virtual sessions designed for the family rather than the client: education on what addiction is, how it affects relationships, the challenges of repairing them, and how to offer helpful support after treatment. Families can join while their loved one is in treatment or at any point afterwards — there is no expiry on attendance.

Alumni Services & Re-admission

Program alumni across Canada · Virtual (Zoom) + in-person meetings in Edmonton and Nanaimo; alumni dinners in major cities across Canada

Aftercare with unusually long reach: alumni coordinators are available 24 hours a day, post-treatment virtual recovery coaching is included in treatment, and graduates can return for free refresher stays at any time to reconnect and reground. Weekly and bi-weekly virtual Zoom meetings are complemented by in-person meetings in Edmonton and Nanaimo, complimentary alumni dinners held two to four times a year in major Canadian cities, an alumni web portal, and Sober Sports recreational leagues — support that continues, in the centre's words, until clients no longer feel they need it.
